Hello

Coronavirus
We identified which of your residents are most highly impacted

As new measures to control the Coronavirus (Covid-19) disease are introduced we have analysed your datasets to give you timely information about the residents in who are most highly impacted.

We've taken a look at your LIFT Dashboard and identified:

  • %COHORT_1A% couples with school-age children eligible for income-based Free School Meals, and %COHORT_1B%  couples with younger children

  • %COHORT_2A% lone parents with school-age children eligible for income-based Free School Meals, and %COHORT_2B% lone parents with younger children

  • %COHORT_4A% self-employed and %COHORT_4B% low earner households affected by self-isolation

  • %COHORT_5% single pensioners living alone

  • %COHORT_6% single people with Limited Capability for Work / Limited Capability for Work-Related Activity who are living alone

  • %COHORT_7% single people without Limited Capability for Work / Limited Capability for Work-Related Activity who are living alone

Your LIFT analytics lets you combine these cohorts with analysis on financial resilience or other additional criteria to help you prioritise your support further. For example, to target households receiving Universal Infant Free School Meals who may be struggling to make ends meet. We'll continue to analyse your data to develop further insights.

This information may be helpful to the emergency response and senior leadership teams at the council, as well as Directors of Public Health and Adult or Children's Social Care.

We can share this data analysis with you via a ready-to-action MS Excel spreadsheet, please email  hello@policyinpractice.co.uk to request yours.

How to use these data insights

We are hosting a webinar on Thursday 26 March at 10:30 to 11:30 to share the background to this data analysis and facilitate discussion on what actions local authorities can take to protect vulnerable residents using these insights.

Ideas for actions you could consider with your insights include:

  • Letting people know you are there to help, and how to contact you
  • Running proactive benefits take-up campaigns to boost incomes
  • Alerting vulnerability to food bank or housing association partners so they can manage demand
  • Targeting outreach campaigns to vulnerable people so they have information from a trusted source

Please join the webinar to learn, reflect and share the activities you're doing to support your residents with other like-minded councils.

In the meantime, if you have any other questions or queries about getting the most out of your LIFT Dashboard, please contact James Rawlins, Client Services Manager, on 07929 221305 or via james@policyinpractice.co.uk.

Best wishes

PS. We have created a welfare support page Your income and Coronavirus (COVID-19) to clearly show what support you might get if your income is affected by Coronavirus. We are updating this page as and when changes are announced by the Government. Please feel free to link to it on your own council's websites and other communication channels to help your residents.
