Helping couples to maxmise their income just got easier

We've added more support to help you advise couples who must choose which benefit to claim when they meet the criteria for more than one. We'll help you ensure your customers can always maximise their benefit income.

For example, a couple may consist of one person who's in receipt of contributory-ESA and DLA and another who is their carer. Here, one person can claim ESA or the other can claim Income Support on behalf of the couple.

In many cases, the benefit chosen will have an impact on household income, so we've made this clearer. The Benefit and Budgeting Calculator will always calculate the benefit award to ensure the household is better off.

1. See the choice of benefits available. Go to the Quick summary panel on the right hand side, navigate to Your benefits.
2. See why the chosen benefit is better for the household. Go to the Quick summary panel on the right hand side, navigate to Advice and Support and click Information about your case.

View changed earnings by hour, week or month

We've enhanced the Change your earnings feature so you can now model alternative hourly earnings and the impact on household income. Use the sliders to model earnings by the hour, week or month.
Save your scenarios

You asked, we listened. Using the handy scenario functionality you can now save the various scenarios you create to see how different circumstances may affect one household. In Results & reports, click on the down arrow next to My Cases in the top menu and then select Save case to action.

We run free introductory training webinars for all our customers. Scheduled every few weeks and lasting 45 minutes, the online sessions go through the main features of the Benefit and Budgeting Calculator. Perfect for introducing new users or refreshing existing users. Email helpdesk@policyinpractice.co.uk for details.
